New Year’s Eve in Edmonton

Edmonton’s New Year’s Eve Downtown Festival and Fireworks

Bundle up the family and head downtown to Sir Winston Churchill Square to celebrate bringing in 2025 at the City of Edmonton’s New Year’s Eve Downtown Festival and Fireworks. The festivities kick off at 6:00 pm with live performances throughout the evening. Emcee Ron Walker will host and introduce musical performances such as Next Stop, Otago!, Sauvage Plain, Selfish Bodies, and Rule of Nines, and exciting fire performances by Flowarrior.

Other activities include ice skating at City Hall Plaza, where you can get your groove on as you glide across the ice to lively music. There are free skate rentals and skate aids will be available on a first-come, first-served basis, and the skate change room will be open from 6 pm to midnight. There will also be a big fire pit to stand around a warm-up, as well as warming domes, plus a bunch of food trucks and other treats around the plaza.

The night will cap off with a two 12-minute fireworks display launching over City Hall, one at 8 pm and one to bring in 2025 at midnight. It’s sure to be a great night for everyone!

Celebrate at ICE District by Watching the Edmonton Oilers

Fans are invited down to ICE District Plaza for New Year’s Eve 2025 with festivities starting at 6:00 PM for an Oilers watch party as the Edmonton Oilers faceoff against the Utah Hockey Club at home for the first time, featuring food, drinks, a DJ, the game on the giant screen, outdoor heaters and exciting prizes.

Following the game, ICE District Plaza will be transformed into an epic New Year’s Eve party featuring multi-platinum artist and Album of the Year winner at the 2024 Canadian Country Music Awards Jade Eagleson, Canadian country singer Dawson Gray, giant countdown screens and fireworks at the stroke of midnight.

New Year at World Waterpark’s Beach Ball Bash

Dive into the New Year at World Waterpark’s Beach Ball Bash, where the only frost is on your drink! With a foam pit party, buffet, character sightings, and roving entertainment (yes, including a fire breather), it’s the ultimate tropical escape in the heart of winter.

Top it off with a colossal beach ball drop and the city’s largest indoor fireworks—because nothing says “Welcome, 2025!” like dodging oversized inflatables. It’s warm, it’s wild, and it’s the New Year’s party you didn’t know you needed.

New Year’s Eve Dueling Pianos

Cattails Crossing and Out of Bounds restaurant presents Dueling Pianos, one of the newest New Year’s Eve events, held at the Cattail Crossing Golf & Winter Club, just north of the city. Your favourite songs from the 1950s to today will be performed by two world-class performers who are ready to take your requests. Tickets start at $85 ($158 for VIP) and include a gourmet dinner, starting at 7:15 pm, and a glass of champagne at midnight. The musical festivities will continue well passed the countdown, wrapping up at around 1:30 am.

The word is out: this will be the final New Year’s Eve party in this iconic spot before it upgrades to a bigger, better home in 2025. But until then, the countdown is on for one last unforgettable celebration! DJ AK will be spinning tracks, and Red Socks Photography is on hand for photo-worthy memories. Early birds snag tickets for just $10 (for 10 days only), climbing to $15-$20 later, or grab a $30 fast pass to skip the line. It’s a farewell party you don’t want to miss!

Let’s Get Fizzy: Craft Beer Market New Year’s Eve Party

Ring in the New Year at CRAFT Beer Market Edmonton, where the beats are bumping, the dance floor is buzzing, and the party promises to be unforgettable! With doors opening at 9 PM for this 19+ bash, grab general admission for $20 to mingle and move, or lock down a VIP table for $250 and claim the best spot in the house. Want to make a night of it? Reserve a spot early for the 3-course dinner, and roll right into the countdown celebration in style. Cheers to making memories!

Celebrating New Year's Eve

Coming from out of town? Plan ahead and book one of the many great Edmonton hotels so that you have a comfy place to rest after all of that partying!

And you can help cure what ails you after a night of partying by indulging at a great Edmonton cafe when you wake up. It will also help fuel you to explore more things to do in Edmonton before heading home.
