It’s that time of year again…the end of it! A brand new year always brings new hope, and if you’re like us, you’re counting on 2025 to bring good things. So, why not celebrate this momentous flip of the calendar? If you’re looking at how to celebrate New Year’s Eve in Calgary, we’ve got several ideas for you below.

Celebrate New Year’s Eve in Calgary With a Variety of Events!

Watch the Fireworks from Prince’s Island Park

Ring in 2025 at midnight in downtown Calgary with fireworks launched from Prince’s Island Park! The spectacular pyrotechnics display will be synch’d to music on CJSW 90.9 FM. There will also be a live stream of the fireworks if you want to stay in the comfort of your own home.

Don’t miss the stilt walker, DJ skating/dance party, incense dragon parade and fire pits, food trucks & family fun.

At 11:55 pm, tune in to CJSW 90.9 FM with a blessing from Indigenous Elder Clarence Wolfleg, followed by a countdown to midnight with Mayor Jyoti Gondek.

Get the Red Carpet Treatment (Literally) at This New Year’s Eve Dinner and Dance Party

Start 2025 by celebrating at one of Calgary’s classiest New Year’s Eve events. The New Year’s Eve Dinner and Dance party hosted by Lounge XVIII promises to be a night to remember! Enjoy celebrity treatment (including a red carpet), a live DJ, delicious food and flowing champagne at one of Calgary’s coolest bars.

Begin your night at 6 pm with a five-course dinner prepared by Lounge XVIII’s executive chef. After 9:30 pm, the dance floor opens, and the party really begins. Tickets are available ($35-$110) for the dinner and party or just the party. Dinner tickets include a meal with a cocktail or glass of wine, waterpipe specials, champagne toast, party favours, photo booth souvenirs and entry into Lounge XVIII. Party tickets include everything listed above, except dinner, drink specials.

Celebrate New Year’s Eve in Calgary at the Deerfoot Inn Casino With 3 Different Events

You’ve got a choice of fabulous options at the Deerfoot Inn Casino, as they celebrate New Year’s Eve in Calgary with three ultra-special events.

Start the night with a fabulous New Year’s Eve dinner buffet at the Mohave Grill. From 4:30 pm to 9:30 pm, dig into their AAA slow-roasted prime rib, Yorkshire puddings, seafood table, and much more. It’s $52.95 per person for all you can eat; just leave room for dessert!

Celebrating New Year's Eve

Starting in the Chrome Showroom, Toque will delight fans young and old with classic hits. Doors open at 10:00 pm, and the show begins at 11:00 pm.

Finally, dance your way into the new year in the Sundance Ballroom at the New Year’s Eve 80’s Dance Party. Dust off your 80s duds and party like it’s 1989 with live music courtesy of DJ Silly Wrabbit. Get your tickets for just $35. Doors open at 9:00 pm on December 31st.

New Year’s Eve Under the KnightFall Charity Festival!

Ring in 2025 while getting your groove on at the Sheraton Cavalier Hotel. Be sure to come dressed in your best Medieval times attire (The dress code is Dressy or Medieval–Dark Age Creations or The Costume Shoppe). and get ready to party at the KnightFall Charity Festival. Local entertainers will help you dance late into the night and participate in a silent auction throughout the evening with proceeds going towards the Ronald McDonald House.

Calgary New Years Eve Groovy

The bar opens at 5:30 pm, dinner is at 7 pm, and the dancing starts at 9 pm. And of course, there will be a champagne toast at midnight. Best of all, book a room at the Sheraton Cavalier for the evening, and you won’t have to worry about driving home! Tickets are $110 per person or $810 for a table of 8 (this does not include alcohol). Tickets are available here.

Let’s Get Fizzy New Year’s Eve Party at Craft Beer Market

Craft Beer Market will have a night of non-stop fun featuring a DJ spinning tunes, a lively dance floor, and a party to remember. Doors open at 9 PM on Saturday, December 31, for this 18+ celebration.

General admission is $20, but seating is limited to maximize mingling and dancing—arrive early or grab a VIP table for $250 to secure your spot. For an elevated experience, enjoy a 3-course prix fixe dinner that includes party access.

Laugh at Your Core for 2025!

Head down to the Comedy Cave for New Year’s Eve 2025 and enjoy a dinner and a show. For $45, enjoy their world-renowned dinner buffet, then after supper, laugh your heart out with three of the funniest comedians – Robert Baril, Anton Burkinov and Zach Wiggins.

There’s an early bird show at 5:30 pm and another at 9:30 pm.

Family Fun at the Rec Room New Year’s Eve Bash

Calgary’s favourite party place is throwing one of the coolest New Year’s Eve parties in Alberta, and everyone’s invited to join in all the fun. Starting at 9:00 pm, guests of the Rec Room can enjoy 2 hours of free gameplay plus a Prosecco toast at midnight, with non-alcoholic options available. Early Access VIP tickets are available as well and include a special house-made cocktail. Tickets from $25 – $80.

Live entertainment includes a DJ and a photo booth. This family-friendly event is open for partygoers of all ages, but a valid ID is required for the Prosecco toast.

Calgary Flames Hockey

How about a bit of hockey and a lot of partying? The Calgary Flames host the Philadelphia Flyers on New Year’s Eve at the Scotiabank Saddledome. From end of game until 2 AM the Telus Club and Dutton’s Original 16 Lounge will be transformed into a rockin’ party. There will be a live band, DJ, dancing, and a toast to bring in 2025! Wilder Institute ZOOLIGHTS: Zoo Year’s Eve at the Calgary Zoo

There’s something special planned for New Year’s Eve at the Calgary Zoo, and availability is going fast. For Zoo Year’s Eve, you can enjoy the Garden of Lights, a special light show in lieu of midnight fireworks on the Zoo Bridge, and the new year countdown!

ZOOLIGHTS and ZOOLIGHTS Late Night (for 18+) also take place on December 31 between 5:00 pm and 12:00 am, with the family-friendly version wrapping up at 9:00 pm. Doors to ZOOLIGHTS Late Night close at 11:00 pm. A big bonus: Proceeds benefit wildlife conservation at the Calgary Zoo.

Pure Casino Calgary Presents New Year’s Eve with BORN RUNNING – Tribute to Bruce Springsteen with Julian Austin

Ring in 2025 at Pure Casino as they present NYE: BORN RUNNING – Tribute to Bruce Springsteen with Julian Austin. Dance the night away and enjoy the hits of Bruce Springsteen. You’ll be “Dancing In The Dark” as you relive your” Glory Days”! Included in the ticket price of $79 is a fantastic meal. Doors open at 7 pm and you’ll ring in 2025 with a glass of champagne. Tickets are going fast for this show.

Dance It Up at the Palace Theatre

Cold Garden’s Malt Ball is back and wilder than ever—a space disco New Year’s Eve extravaganza set to blast off into 2025! Hosted at the Palace Theatre, it promises to be an intergalactic mix of glitter, grooves, and good times. Start your night at 9:00 pm and stay until last call – this is your chance to let go of your inhibitions and leave 2024 on the dance floor! Tickets start at $57.

If you don’t want to commit to any one event, you can mix it up by sampling a variety of Calgary attractions! Start your early evening with dinner, and book a reservation at one of many excellent Calgary restaurants (we suggest River Café or Model Milk). After dinner, make your way over to Olympic Plaza for ice skating, right in the heart of downtown Calgary. (Or check out these other spots for skating in Calgary.)
